im in third trimester and bought a big U shape pillow for sleeping. My delivery is near so was wondering can the same one be used later for feeding baby, ya i need a separate nursing one? Dont want to waste money on extra stuff.
My mom actually helped me figure this out. The pregnancy pillow is mainly for giving you support while sleeping, especially in late pregnancy. For breastfeeding, it's not really designed for that, a proper nursing pillow would be better as it gives the right height and support for the baby.
I found my pregnancy pillow fantastic for back support during pregnancy, which really helped with posture. For breastfeeding, I'd say it's not ideal. A dedicated nursing pillow is designed ergonomically to position the baby correctly, which is important for a good latch and your comfort.
So, a pregnancy pillow is primarily for prenatal comfort and support while sleeping. While you might try to use it for breastfeeding, it's usually too bulky and doesn't offer the firm, raised support a nursing pillow does. Apps also recommend a proper nursing pillow for better latch and posture for both mom and baby.
Haha, I tried, believe me! My pregnancy pillow was like a third person in our bed. But for breastfeeding, it's like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. It's too big, too soft, and you'll end up wrestling with it more than feeding the baby! Save it for your next pregnancy sleep saga.
Oh god, my pregnancy pillow is my best friend right now, it's the only thing getting me through these sleepless nights! But for breastfeeding? Hmm, I don't think so, it's too big and floppy. I'm already envisioning struggling with a tiny human and a giant pillow, haha! Probably better to get a separate nursing pillow.
Yaar, not really. Pregnancy pillows are mostly for sleeping, to support your back and belly, you know. Actually, when you're breastfeeding, you need something more firm and shaped so the baby is at the right height. So no, a nursing pillow is better, these are too big.
The pregnancy pillow is truly a blessing for comfort during those later months, helping you rest well. For breastfeeding, it might not be the most practical. It's always good to use the right tools for each purpose. Just focus on taking care of yourself and your little one, and trust your instincts.
