I have a uti going on right now and i also took a home test which showed positive. Now im confused if the infection could have messed with the result somehow. Has this happened to anyone? planning to get a blood test done.
Honestly home tests can occasionally give unclear results from various reasons, so if you're confused, a blood test at the lab is the way to settle it. And any infection symptoms should be seen by your doctor. Dont second guess the strip alone.
A regular UTI or infection usually doesnt cause a false positive on a normal pregnancy test, but blood or protein in urine from infection can sometimes muddy the result. My gynac said if results are confusing, a blood beta hcg is the clearest. If you suspect infection, definitely get that treated separately.
If you have signs of infection like burning or fever, please see a doctor regardless of the pregnancy test. Infections need their own treatment and shouldnt be ignored. Dont rely only on the strip, get properly checked.
