My hair is coming out in clumps every time i comb or wash, way more than usual. Im 5 months along and never had this much before. Is this because of the pregnancy hormones or something i should worry about?
Oh I felt this so much, but for me the big hair fall actually came a few months AFTER delivery, not during. Clumps in the shower, I was so scared. But it stopped on its own and grew back. Hormones, totally normal.
Heavy hair fall can sometimes point to thyroid or iron levels, which shift a lot in pregnancy. Mine was linked to thyroid. Id suggest mention it to your doctor and maybe get those bloods checked, dont just blame it on hormones.
Ugh yes it can, dont panic. Eat your iron rich stuff, oil your hair, be gentle while combing. It usually settles. If its really heavy though, just get a quick blood test done.
During pregnancy many actually get thicker hair, the shedding usually hits postpartum. But if you're losing a lot now, could be low iron or thyroid, so get those checked. Both times my hair fall was after the baby.
