Can progesterone supplements shrink the fibroids in pregnancy?
I have a small fibroid and im on progesterone support right now during pregnancy. Just wondering if these supplements can actually shrink the fibroid or not. Will discuss with my gynac too but wanted to know ur experiences.
I stayed at my parents' house during my pregnancy, and I remember how worried my mother was about my fibroids. My doctor told us that progesterone is actually given to support the baby and keep the pregnancy safe, not to shrink the fibroids. Please don't worry too much and listen to whatever your doctor advises, they know best.
No, progesterone supplements do not shrink fibroids—their main job is to support the pregnancy and prevent miscarriage. Fibroids actually grow during pregnancy due to high hormone levels, but they usually shrink post-delivery on their own. Just follow your doctor's treatment plan strictly.
I had a 3 cm fibroid when I was pregnant, and my son is now a healthy 2-year-old toddler! The doctor put me on progesterone too, but she explained it was to support the uterine lining and prevent any early delivery, not to shrink the fibroid. Most of the time, those fibroids just shrink on their own after the baby is born, so relax!
Oh sweetie, don't stress too much about the fibroids right now! The progesterone is just to keep your little baby safe and cozy in there, it doesn't shrink the fibroids. Just focus on your health and take your pills on time, okay? You are doing great!
Actually, progesterone doesn't shrink fibroids, yaar. In fact, hormones in pregnancy can sometimes make them grow a bit, but progesterone is strictly given to protect the pregnancy. Just trust your gynac and don't google too much, it only increases tension!
I have a small fibroid too and my doctor recently prescribed progesterone. I had the same question, but my doctor told me it's purely to support the pregnancy. Are you experiencing any pain or bleeding from the fibroids? Let me know what your doctor suggests next.
