I didnt take the rubella vaccine before conceiving, only found out im pregnant last week. Now im a little tense thinking can i still take it now or not? planning to ask my gynac but wanted to hear from others first.
It should be taken before you get pregnant, not during. If you are already expecting, they wont give it, theyll just monitor. Anyone planning a baby should get their rubella status checked beforehand, good thing to ask your doctor.
This is definitely one to leave to your gynac, please dont take any vaccine on your own during pregnancy. They know exactly which ones are safe and when. Always confirm with them first.
No, my doctor was very clear that the rubella vaccine is not given during pregnancy because its a live vaccine. Its meant to be taken before conceiving, ideally a month or so prior. During pregnancy they just check your immunity through blood tests.
