I forgot to take the rubella vaccine before getting pregnant and now i just found out im expecting. Bit worried if i can still take it now or its too late. Will ask my doctor but wanted to hear from others too.
From what my gynac told me, the rubella vaccine is not given during pregnancy because its a live vaccine. They usually advise it before you conceive, ideally a month before. If you are already pregnant, they just monitor and give it after delivery. Please confirm your exact case with your doctor.
As far as I know rubella is avoided in pregnancy and given before conception or postpartum instead. But this is really a question only your doctor should answer for your situation, dont go by general info here. Pls ask them at your next visit.
When we were planning, my doctor checked my rubella immunity first and got me vaccinated before pregnancy because it cant be given during. So timing matters. If you are pregnant now, your doctor will guide what is safe, please ask them directly.
I remember they sorted my vaccines before pregnancy, including rubella, not during. These things are best handled with proper doctor follow up. Do raise it with your gynac so they can check your records and advise correctly.
