Can saffron be used during 3rd month of pregnancy?
My MIL keeps saying start kesar in milk for fair baby and all that. Im in my 3rd month now. I just want to know if its safe to have at this stage, dont want to take any risk. anyone here started it early?
When I asked the dietician at my hospital about saffron in the first trimester, she strictly told me to avoid it until the 5th month. It's really best to ask your own gynac or hospital staff during your next visit before starting any such herbs.
During my 3rd month, my MIL brought saffron but I felt so scared to take it so early. I felt that since the first trimester is very sensitive, it was better to wait. I actually only started having it in my milk from the 5th month onwards.
Honestly, saffron or no saffron, my baby still keeps me awake all night, haha! But during my 3rd month, I stayed away from kesar because it's considered 'hot'. Better to stick to plain milk for now and save the kesar for later!
In our family, elders advise starting kesar milk only after the fourth or fifth month when the baby is more stable. I checked with my doctor too and she agreed it's safer to avoid hot-natured things in the first trimester. Better to wait for a few more weeks, dear.
Because of my PCOS, my pregnancy was quite delicate and I was super cautious about everything. My doctor advised me to avoid saffron in the first trimester as it can cause body heat. It's always safer to wait until you enter your second trimester.
I totally understand how confusing it is with everyone giving different advice on saffron! I was so anxious about doing something wrong in my 3rd month. Just to be safe, I completely avoided it until my 20-week scan was done.
I am currently in my second trimester and I also had this exact same doubt in my 3rd month! I was so worried about miscarriage risks that I didn't touch saffron at all. Did anyone else's doctor tell them to strictly wait until the 5th month?
