Can sanitary pads be used during white discharge during pregnancy?

Im around 16 weeks and getting more white discharge than usual, feels wet all day. Thinking of using a thin pad for it, is that ok during pregnancy or not? Bit unsure.

Keep the area clean and dry, and wear cotton panties instead of plastic-backed pads. But if the discharge is itchy, smelly, or yellow, please ask your doctor immediately.

I'm facing this right now too! I usually prefer wearing loose cotton underwear and changing it often. Does anyone else feel like pads cause too much sweat?
