Since few weeks my neck and shoulder area stays stiff and achy, mostly by evening. Im in 2nd trimester and everything else is fine. Is this just a normal pregnancy thing ya should i mention it to doc? anyone else faced this?
My gynac got a basic BP check and some tests done when I told her about my neck pain, which thankfully didn't cost much but gave me peace of mind. I'd say spend a little on a good supportive pillow now rather than paying for expensive physiotherapy sessions later. Definitely get your BP checked once at the clinic.
I panicked so much thinking it was some big issue when my neck started aching. My doctor checked my BP and said it was just muscle strain from the sleeping position. Do mention it to your gynac just to be safe, but mostly it's very manageable!
Look, minor neck aches from sleeping weirdly are common, but sharp shoulder pain shouldn't be ignored. Let your doctor know about this in your next checkup. Meanwhile, fix your posture while sitting and don't lift heavy things at home.
I felt this awful neck and shoulder pain around my second trimester and it was so frustrating. Honestly, please mention it to your gynac during your next visit. Sometimes it's just posture, but it's always better to get it checked so you don't worry.
It can happen because of change in sleeping posture or heavy breasts, but do check with your doctor once to rule out any blood pressure issues. For relief, try using a pregnancy pillow or a warm compress. Don't use heavy pain relief sprays without asking your gynac.
