I had a slipped disc issue last year and it still acts up sometimes. Now that im planning a baby im worried how it'll be once the belly grows. Has anyone gone through pregnancy with a disc problem?
I understand the worry dear. A slipped disc mainly affects your comfort, the back pain can get worse as you grow, but with the right care many women manage pregnancy fine. The important thing is to have your doctors plan your pain relief and movement safely. Please dont take random painkillers for it.
This really needs your doctor's input, ideally your gynac and an orthopedic together. A slipped disc can flare up in pregnancy because of the extra weight and posture changes. It doesnt usually stop you having a healthy baby, but the pain management has to be planned carefully and safely. Please get a proper consult.
My friend had a disc issue and her doctors said pregnancy can worsen the back strain due to the growing belly and hormone loosened ligaments, but it generally doesnt harm the baby. They guided her on safe positions, a support belt and gentle physio. The key was coordinating between her gynac and ortho, dont go it alone.
I cant advise medically on this one, it's quite specific. I'd only say please loop in both your gynac and a back specialist early so they can guide your whole pregnancy safely. Something this individual really shouldnt be managed off random online tips.
