Can soframycin be applied on post pregnancy stitches?
Delivered 12 days back, normal delivery with stitches and the area is still a bit sore. We have soframycin at home and someone suggested it but i dont want to put anything without knowing. Planning to ask my gynac but wanted to hear if others used it down there.
I wouldnt put any cream on stitches on my own. The skin there is healing and the doctor needs to check if its even needed. Better to ask ur gynac or the hospital staff what cream is safe for ur stitches.
Pls dont apply anything on the stitches without asking ur doctor first. For my c section the doctor told me exactly what to use and how to clean it, every case is a bit different. A quick call to them is worth it na, dont risk infection.
Honestly for stitches the main thing is hygiene and keeping it dry. Whether to apply a cream and which one really depends on how the wound is healing, so let the doctor decide that. Dont self medicate on a healing wound na.
For my stitches the doctor gave me a specific cream and told me to keep the area clean and dry mostly. I would say just check with them before using soframycin or anything, they will tell u in 2 mins.
