I have some constipation problem and saw this at home. Im 6 weeks pregnant so dont want to use anything random na. Will confirm with doc but wanted to know if anyone used it.
Actually, my doctor explicitly told me to avoid Softovac because it contains Sonamukhi (senna), which can sometimes stimulate bowel movements too strongly and cause uterine contractions. Instead, my gynac prescribed plain Isabgol (psyllium husk) which is much safer. Always check with your doctor first.
Suno, don't take any laxatives blindly right now, even if it's Ayurvedic. Softovac might not be safe for the baby. Just call your doctor and they will tell you a safe pregnancy-friendly alternative.
I totally understand how uncomfortable and painful pregnancy constipation can be, it's really the worst. But please, for the safety of your little one, don't take Softovac without your gynac's approval. Hang in there, try warm milk at night, and do consult your doctor soon.
I also had terrible constipation during my pregnancy, but my doctor advised against Ayurvedic laxatives like Softovac. She gave me a safe stool softener syrup instead. Try eating papaya (if in later months/doctor allowed) or prunes, and talk to your doc.
Please avoid taking Softovac without asking your gynac first. Constipation is very common, but some Ayurvedic ingredients can cause stomach cramps which isn't safe in pregnancy. Try drinking more water and eating high-fiber foods instead.
