I took two tests, one was faintly positive and the other looked negative, now im so confused. Cant tell if the home tests are even reliable. Has it ever given any of you a wrong result?
Mine lied at first honestly, or so it felt. I got a negative when I tested too early and I felt so let down. Tested again 4 days later and it was a clear positive. So yes, timing matters a lot.
I took like four tests because I didnt trust the result, classic me. Truth is testing too early or expired strips can mislead you. Best to wait for the missed period and use first morning urine so you dont spiral like I did.
My doctor said home kits are quite accurate when used correctly but false negatives happen with early testing, expired kits, or too much fluid intake before. Faint lines also confuse people. If you're unsure, a blood hCG test at the lab is the most reliable confirmation.
It can give a false negative if you test too early or with diluted urine, that's the common one. False positives are rarer. If you test before your period is even due, a negative doesnt mean much. Retest after a few days with morning urine.
