Can sperms mixed with urine give false negative pregnancy?
Sounds weird na but we were intimate at night and I tested in the morning with the same urine, kind of. Got negative but I'm confused if that messed up the result. Just want to understand, anyone knows about this?
Actually, urine pregnancy tests are designed to only detect the hCG hormone which is present in pregnant women's urine. Semen doesn't contain this hormone nor does it mask it, so it won't cause a false negative. For the most accurate result, just use the first morning urine sample.
Oh dear, I remember being so confused and anxious during my testing phase too, it is such an emotional roller coaster. To answer your query, no, it won't cause a false negative because the kit only reacts to hCG. Sending you so much love and hoping you get the result you want.
Listen, don't stress too much about this. Semen in urine won't really change how the pregnancy test detects hCG hormone, so a false negative is highly unlikely due to this. Just take a deep breath and maybe test again tomorrow morning with first urine.
Ugh, pregnancy brain is real but let me tell you, urine tests only look for the pregnancy hormone. Sperms won't dilute or hide that hormone even if there is some mixing. I'm currently in my 3rd trimester and can barely bend to see my feet, let alone worry about urine test chemistry, haha!
