We are a seafood loving family and i suddenly got craving for some squid fry. But im a little scared about seafood now in pregnancy. Anyone ate it and was it fine?
I ate seafood in both pregnancies but always well cooked, never raw or fried half. Squid should be cooked thoroughly, no rubbery undercooked bits. Fresh quality matters a lot with seafood.
I personally avoided too much seafood after my doctor advised it for my case. If u dont have any allergy or restriction, cooked squid in moderation is usually fine but pls just confirm with ur own gynac.
Squid is generally considered ok in pregnancy if its cooked properly and fully, the worry is mainly raw or undercooked seafood. It is lower in mercury than big fish. Still, run it by ur gynac, especially how much and how often.
Craving calamari? same haha. Just make sure its properly cooked through and from a clean place, not some sketchy stall. Moderation is key with all seafood now.
