Can standing in sunlight gives vitamin d during pregnancy?
My vit d came really low in reports and i dont feel like taking too many supplements. Was thinking if just sitting in morning sun for some time daily can help instead. Anyone tried this during pregnancy?
My doctor explained our skin makes vitamin D from sunlight, but many Indian women still test low due to less exposure and skin tone factors. She tested my levels and gave a supplement on top of sun. Don't rely on sun alone, get your level checked.
My amma always said morning sun is good for bones, and it does help a bit. But I was still deficient when tested, so my gynac added a weekly tablet. Sun plus what doctor advises, both together worked for me.
Yes morning sun does help with vitamin D, I'd get some during my morning walk that my doctor allowed. Early sun is gentle, around 15-20 mins. But many of us are still deficient, so my gynac put me on a supplement too.
