Can sudden jerk during 7th week pregnancy cause spina bifida?
I was getting up and slipped a little, got a sudden jerk and now im panicking. Im exactly 7 weeks. I read somewhere about spine issues forming early and now i cant stop thinking i harmed the baby. Planning to call my gynac but needed to hear from someone, is this even possible?
Don't carry this fear dear, a sudden movement can't cause that condition. The baby is cushioned well inside. If it makes you feel better, talk to your doctor, but truly you don't need to worry about this.
My doc explained spina bifida is a neural tube issue that depends on early development and folic acid, not on a jerk or fall. That's exactly why folic acid is given before and in early pregnancy. A small jerk won't cause it, relax.
I used to panic over every little jerk and fall in early weeks too, googling worst things. My doctor literally laughed gently and said the baby is very protected. Spina bifida isn't caused by that. Breathe, you're okay.
No, a jerk doesn't cause spina bifida, that's a development thing of the spine, not from any sudden movement. But i understand the worry, please just mention it to your gynac and they'll reassure you properly.
I had this same scary thought after a jerk! Anyone else overthink like this in first trimester? My doc reassured me jerks dont cause such conditions. Are you taking your folic acid? that's the actual protective thing.
