Honestly it's just fluid buildup, nothing to do with gender. I had terrible swelling even after my C-section delivery, but keeping feet elevated and walking slowly helped me recover slowly.
Yaar gender prediction is a myth, but my swollen feet look like absolute potatoes right now in this 9th month! I just want this baby out safely, boy or girl doesn't matter anymore, just give me my feet back!
My mother-in-law also said this foot swelling means a baby boy, but my gynac explained it is just water retention because of the growing baby. It's better to rest your feet on a pillow and follow what your doctor says.
There is absolutely no scientific link between foot swelling and baby's gender, it's just an old wives' tale. Please monitor the swelling though, because if it's very sudden or high, you must get your BP checked by your doctor.
Arey no re, gender is pure chance but this swelling is just making me crave some nice hot ginger tea and pakoras while I sit with my feet up. Just pamper yourself with good food instead of guessing!
I have heard my older relatives talk about these things too, but I am not sure if it is true. Hopefully we both get to experience a healthy pregnancy soon, whatever the gender is.
