Can swollen feet during pregnancy be due to maida?
My feet have been swelling up lately and im in 6th month. My mom thinks its because i eat a lot of maida stuff like bread and biscuits. Is there really a connection or its just the pregnancy? curious.
Honestly, between midnight feedings and diaper changes, my swollen feet are the last thing I remember. Swelling is just pregnancy pressure, so put your feet up and let your husband do the work!
I had terrible swelling in my third trimester, and eating clean, low-salt food really helped manage it. Keep your feet elevated on a pillow while sleeping and avoid standing for too long.
When I was at my mom's place, she made sure I ate fresh home-cooked meals and kept my legs elevated. She said processed foods like maida can cause bloating, but swelling is just natural fluid build-up.
Oh god, don't blame my beloved maida pizzas! Swollen feet are normal because of all the extra fluids, but yes, cutting down sodium and drinking more water helps keep it in check.
Beta, swollen feet happen because the body holds water in pregnancy. Avoid sitting with your legs hanging down, and try soaking your feet in warm water with rock salt.
Swelling can sometimes be a sign of high blood pressure or preeclampsia. Please don't just blame maida; check your BP with your doctor to make sure you and the baby are safe.
If maida caused swollen feet, my feet would be size 12 by now with all the paranthas I've eaten! It's actually just water retention and the heavy belly, but cutting processed food does help.
With twins, my feet looked like small water balloons by the end! Maida isn't the direct cause, but eating too much salty junk food definitely makes water retention worse.
I remember being so worried about my swollen feet and stopped eating almost everything. Looking back, it was just normal pregnancy edema that vanished right after delivery, so don't stress too much.
