Its been almost 2 months since my delivery and my tummy is still so loose. I want to start some sit ups to tone it but not sure if its too early yaar. Anyone started core exercises post delivery?
My grandmother always told us to rest for at least 3 to 6 months before trying any hard physical work or exercises. I also asked my doctor and she advised to avoid traditional sit-ups as they put too much pressure. Always let your stitches and muscles heal first.
I was so panicked when I couldn't even lift my back for a single sit-up after delivery. It is completely normal, your core muscles need a lot of time to heal. Don't rush into it at all, our bodies go through so much.
Arrey yaar, sit-ups directly after pregnancy is a big no. Actually, your abdominal muscles might have separated, which is called diastasis recti. Better to start with simple walking and ask your doctor before doing heavy core workouts.
After going through so much during IVF and pregnancy, I realized our bodies deserve immense patience. Please be very gentle with yourself right now, doing sit-ups too early can cause harm. Your strength will return slowly, just focus on healing first.
Please don't do sit-ups right away, especially if you had a C-section. Let your body heal naturally with light walking and pelvic floor exercises first. If you feel any sharp pain or pulling sensation, stop immediately and consult your gynac.
I tracked my postpartum recovery on an app and it specifically said regular sit-ups can worsen abdominal separation. There are specific postpartum core exercises like pelvic tilts that are much safer. Do check with a pelvic floor therapist if possible!
