Doc asked me to do thyroid test and i got confused. Does this also show if im pregnant or is it only for thyroid? Sorry if its a silly doubt, im new to all this.
No, T3 and TSH are thyroid tests, they dont detect pregnancy at all. The pregnancy hormone is hCG, thats what the test checks. But once you are pregnant, thyroid does need regular monitoring, I had thyroid and my gynac checked TSH every few weeks.
Those are for your thyroid function, completely different from the pregnancy test. For pregnancy you need a urine kit or the beta hCG blood test. Dont mix the two up.
