My cousin was treated for tb last year and now im pregnant, just got a little scared after reading something online. Im 2 months in and want to understand if it can reach the baby somehow. Anyone whose been through this pls share, im planning to bring it up with my gynac too.
When I asked my doctor about this she said TB can be managed in pregnancy with the right treatment, and untreated is the bigger worry. They usually coordinate with a TB specialist. So if there is any suspicion get tested properly, dont guess.
Beta dont panic. Many women have gone through TB treatment while pregnant and delivered healthy babies. Just stay fully under your doctor and follow the medicine schedule without missing, ok.
Please dont take TB lightly during pregnancy yaar. My cousin had it and her gynac worked closely with a chest specialist the whole time, treatment was given carefully and baby was fine. The main thing is dont skip meds on your own, talk to your doctor about everything.
Honestly this is one where general advice wont help much. It depends on which type, how far along etc. Best is to sit with your gynac and a TB doctor together and let them plan it. They handle this more than we think.
