Can the moisture in air increase the itch in pregnancy?
Im 28 weeks and the itching on my belly and arms is so bad, and it feels worse in this humid weather. Matlab does moisture in air actually make it more? anyone else noticing this in monsoon?
Actually high humidity can cause sweat rash which increases itching. But remember, severe itching in pregnancy (especially palms and soles) can be a sign of ICP, a liver condition. Get it checked with your gynac to be safe.
Yes dear, moisture and sweat can definitely aggravate skin itching. Keep your skin clean, wear loose cotton clothes, and apply calamine lotion. But if it's too intense, please don't ignore it and consult your doctor.
I'm still planning my pregnancy but my sister faced this during humid months. She used to apply cold pressed coconut oil which gave relief. Is your itching very severe? You should probably call your gynac to check if it's normal.
Oh god yes! This humidity is making my stretched belly itch like crazy, I feel like a bear scratching against a tree lol. But seriously, if your palms and soles are itching, tell your gynac immediately because that can be a liver thing.
With two babies growing inside, my belly skin was stretched to the limit and humidity made it so much worse. I used tons of coconut oil post-bath. Keep it moisturized but if the itching is severe, please check with your doctor.
I remember going crazy with tummy itching during monsoon! Applying cold aloe vera gel helped me calm the skin down. It is usually just stretched skin reacting to humidity, but do mention it to your doctor on your next visit.
My pregnancy tracker app actually had a whole article on this! Sweat and humidity do trigger mild itching. I tracked my symptoms and applied fragrance-free moisturizer, but the app also warned to call doc if palms/soles itch.
