Went for my first scan at around 6 weeks and they couldnt see the heartbeat yet, told me to come back after 10 days. Now im so worried and reading too much online. Can early ultrasounds be off sometimes? anyone been through this.
In my case the early scan showed something unclear and I panicked badly. The gynac asked me to redo it and things were actually fine. Please don't read your report alone, let the doctor explain it to you.
Early scans can be a little uncertain on dates and size, that's known. Don't take one early report as final word. Trust the follow up scan and your doctor, things usually become clearer.
My doctor explained that very early on, sometimes the sac is too small to see clearly so they repeat the scan after a week or two. So it's not always wrong, it's just too early to confirm. A repeat scan usually clears the confusion.
