Im a few days late and have this dull ache in my upper pet, not lower. Trying not to read too much into it but cant help it. Did anyone feel pain up there in early days?
Actually, upper abdominal pain can be due to acid reflux, gallbladder issues, or even high BP (preeclampsia) in later stages. My doctor told me that if the pain is severe and on the right side, it requires immediate medical evaluation. Better safe than sorry!
Most of the time, this is just gas or acidity stretching your upper abdomen as the baby grows. Try sitting upright after eating and avoid spicy food. But if the pain is strong or you feel dizzy, call your gynac right away.
Sometimes upper stomach pain is just severe acidity, which is very common, but it can also be linked to other issues. Since I had thyroid issues, I learned never to ignore weird symptoms. Please ask your doctor in your next checkup.
It could just be gas or indigestion because your digestive system slows down a lot during pregnancy. Try drinking warm water or fennel tea, but if it is sharp or constant, please check with your doctor.
Please don't ignore upper stomach pain, as it can sometimes be a sign of high blood pressure or preeclampsia. I had complications in my third trimester, so I always advise consulting your gynac immediately for any severe pain.
I totally understand how scary any kind of pain can feel when you are carrying your little angel. It is usually just acidity, but please don't take any stress. Just call your doctor's clinic once to be absolutely sure and put your mind at ease.
