Can we apply castor oil in stomach during pregnancy?

My tummy skin feels dry and itchy, and someone told me to apply castor oil. I am unsure because I have heard mixed things about it. Did anyone use it on belly during pregnancy?

Beta in our time people used many oils but castor oil specifically I'd ask the doctor first. For just dry skin on the bump, a normal coconut or almond oil is much safer to massage gently.

If it's just for stretch marks or itchy skin, skip the castor oil and use plain coconut oil or a doc approved cream. Castor oil isn't something I'd put on the belly while pregnant, better safe.

I'd be careful with castor oil during pregnancy honestly. There's a lot of old beliefs around it but it's known to sometimes trigger contractions. Please check with your gynac before applying or taking anything like this.

For external skin care there are gentler oils. Castor oil has a bit of a reputation for stimulating the uterus so I personally avoided it and asked my gynac. Run it by your doctor before using.
