There is a pooja at our ghar next week and my MIL asked me to break the nariyal. Suddenly someone said pregnant women shouldnt do it, kuch superstition type. Is there any real reason ya its just an old belief? confused na.
It's mostly an old superstition, but physically breaking a hard coconut might strain your belly muscles. Just let someone else do the hard physical work, and you can drink the fresh coconut water instead!
There’s no medical reason to avoid it, but I always ask my doctor or the hospital physiotherapist before lifting anything heavy or doing strenuous physical acts. Better to be safe than sorry!
Yaar, don't stress too much about these old myths! Just don't apply too much force or strain your stomach while doing it, otherwise there is no harm at all.
With my twins, I wouldn't even lift a remote, let alone break a coconut! Leave the heavy-duty coconut smashing to the men and just enjoy eating the pieces.
