Can we climb stairs during first trimester pregnancy?
I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm in my first trimester. My house has stairs, and I'm worried if climbing them is safe for the baby at this early stage. Should I avoid them completely or is it okay for light use?
I had thyroid issues so I was extra careful with my energy levels. Normal stair climbing is fine, but do keep checking with your doctor regularly during your monthly scans.
Honestly, I used to climb stairs just to get my evening samosas from the corner shop! It is safe as long as u don't run up and down, just take it easy.
My gynac told me that stair climbing is safe in first trimester unless you have spotting or a low-lying placenta. Just walk slowly, take breaks if u feel tired, and don't rush.
In my first trimester, I climbed stairs normally but very carefully. Later after my C-section I had to be super cautious, so enjoy your active days now but gently.
When I was at mummy's place, they made me walk very slowly on stairs and hold the railing. Unless your doctor has advised bed rest, normal climbing is totally fine, just don't carry heavy things.
