Karwa chauth is coming and this is my first pregnancy, im 4 months now. Mann to bohot hai to keep the fast like every year but tension is whether it is safe for baby. What did u all do?
Haha, honestly, I was so hungry during pregnancy I could have eaten a whole horse! Fasting was out of the question for me. Your baby needs constant energy, so skip the fasts and enjoy your paranthas, you can pray without starving!
I panicked when my family asked me to fast for a festival, thinking it would harm the baby or offend elders. But my doc reassured me that skipping fasts is completely normal and expected during pregnancy. Don't stress, health comes first!
During Karwa Chauth, I felt so torn because I wanted to fast but my body was so weak. I chose to eat fruits and keep myself hydrated. I felt a bit guilty initially, but my baby's safety was my biggest prayer and duty.
Devotion is in the heart, not in starving the body when a new life is growing inside you. God understands your situation. If you really want to keep a fast, just do a 'phalahar' with milk and fruits so your baby gets constant nourishment.
Please don't do it unless you want your baby to start kicking in protest! Jokes aside, fasting causes acidity and low BP which is not fun. Feed the little boss inside you and fast next year!
I totally understand how difficult it is to balance your faith and family traditions with pregnancy. But your womb is a temple right now and nourishing your baby is the most sacred thing. Please prioritize your health and eat small meals.
