My gums have been bleeding a lot and the dentist suggested teeth scaling cleaning. But im 6 months pregnant now and a bit nervous about doing any dental thing right now. Anyone got scaling done during pregnancy, was it ok?
My doctor said routine dental scaling is fine and second trimester is the comfortable time for it. She mentioned avoiding unnecessary xrays. Always inform the dentist about the pregnancy beforehand.
Dental cleaning is generally considered safe, in fact gums get more sensitive in pregnancy. Just tell your dentist you are pregnant so they take proper care. My gynac also okayed it for me.
