I have normal Horlicks at home, not the mother's one. I sometimes drink it with milk at night. Is normal one okay or should I switch to pregnancy version?
Normal Horlicks is essentially malted barley with some vitamins. It's generally considered safe. However, many doctors recommend specific 'Moms' or 'Pregnancy' health drinks as they are fortified with higher levels of iron, folic acid, and calcium needed during pregnancy. Best to ask your gynac which one they recommend for you personally.
Oh, I totally freaked out about this too! My MIL said 'only the pregnant Horlicks' and I was like, 'what even is that?' But my doc said normal Horlicks is absolutely fine unless you have some specific dietary restriction. It's just a health drink. Don't overthink it like I did.
Please, please check with your doctor before consuming anything regularly during pregnancy, even something as simple as Horlicks. Every pregnancy is delicate, and it's always better to be completely sure. Don't take any chances, just get a quick confirmation from your gynac.
Yaar, at this point in my 3rd trimester, I'd drink anything that promises energy! 😂 Normal Horlicks is absolutely fine, I've been having it. It's just a regular malt drink. Unless your doctor has said otherwise, go for it if it makes you feel good!
Sweetie, don't worry about normal Horlicks too much. It's just a malted drink. Many women drink it. Just make sure you're not relying on it for all your nutrition and still eating a healthy, balanced diet. If you're concerned, a quick call to your doctor can ease your mind completely.
Yeah, regular Horlicks is usually fine. The special 'pregnancy' ones can be quite expensive, you know, and sometimes normal milk and a balanced diet give you most of what you need. Just keep an eye on your sugar intake and check with your doc if you have any doubts. Every rupee counts for later expenses!
