I bought dried apricots thinking they are healthy, but then wondered if they are okay in pregnancy. They are a little sweet and I dont know how many to eat. Are you having apricots?
Eat apricots, don't eat apricots, at this point I'd eat anything that gives me five minutes of quiet, lol! But yeah, generally fruits are good, just wash them properly. My doc said most fruits are okay, just avoid papaya and pineapple early on. Apricots were never on my 'no' list.
Apricots are generally good, lot of iron na? My nani used to say they're great for blood. But you know what, always best to just quickly check with your gynac, especially in pregnancy. For small things like fruit, it's usually fine, but a quick call never hurts.
Apricots? Yaar, when you're pregnant with twins, you eat anything that stays down, haha! Seriously though, I ate them, and they were fine. Just make sure they're washed well and don't overdo it. Everything in moderation is the key, unless your doctor says no.
I was actually wondering the same thing! My MIL gave me some dried apricots, saying they're good for iron. I ate a few, haven't had any issues. Did your doctor say anything specific about it?
Oh, I'm not sure about that. I'm still trying to conceive, so I haven't really looked into all the food restrictions yet. Is it a good source of vitamins, I heard? I should ask my doctor too.
Beta, apricots are considered 'garam' (warm) by some elders, so it's always good to eat them in moderation. A few fresh ones or a handful of dried ones should be okay. My mother always said to balance everything during pregnancy, nothing in excess. But for actual medical advice, always ask your doctor.
