We ordered chinese yesterday and it had loads of baby corn, i ate without thinking. Now im thoda worried, is it ok in pregnancy or should i avoid? Pls share.
Of course you can eat baby corn, it is quite healthy. Just avoid eating it from unhygienic outside stalls where they don't wash things properly, home cooked is always safest.
Actually my MIL was very strict about hygiene, so she used to boil baby corn at home and make hot soup for me. It is completely safe if prepared cleanly at home.
In our family they say to avoid too many English vegetables, but my gynac said baby corn is perfectly fine if cooked thoroughly. So I enjoyed it in my home-cooked veg korma without any worry.
I was so scared to eat baby corn because of infection risks. If u really want to eat, please boil it thoroughly at home to kill any bacteria, don't eat it raw in outside salads.
