I like eating 2-3 dates with milk but now after positive test I am hearing mixed things. Some say dates are only for last month. Did anyone eat them in first trimester?
Yes you can have dates in early pregnancy, they are good for iron and energy. Just keep it moderate, 2-3 a day is plenty since they are high in sugar. I had them through both my pregnancies, no issues.
They are healthy but I will gently flag, dates are quite sugary. Since I had gestational diabetes I had to limit them a lot. If your sugar is normal a couple a day is fine, but do keep it in check and ask your doc if unsure.
Dates are very good beta, we always gave them to pregnant girls for strength and iron. Just a few a day is enough. If you have any sugar concern then ask your doctor about how many, otherwise they are a lovely healthy snack.
I read up and asked my gynac, she said dates are fine and even helpful, the old worry about them is mostly about the very end of pregnancy. In early pregnancy a few a day for iron and fibre is totally okay for most women.
