I eat boiled eggs but usually skip the yellow part because people say cholesterol. Now I am pregnant and trying to eat better protein. Is yolk okay if egg is cooked well?
Yes you can eat the yolk, its actually good, has iron, protein and choline which is great for baby's brain. The only rule, cook it fully, no runny or half boiled yolk in pregnancy. Properly cooked egg is a healthy daily food.
My doctor encouraged eggs including the yolk, she said the yolk has choline and good fats important in pregnancy. The main caution she gave was to avoid undercooked or runny eggs because of infection risk. Fully cooked, totally fine and good for u.
Beta egg yolk is full of good stuff, my mother always said it gives strength. Just make sure it is fully cooked, no kacha anda in this time. Boiled or well cooked is best, then it is very nourishing for u and baby.
Egg yolk is fine and actually good protein, helped keep me full without spiking sugar during my gd. Just cook it properly, no soft yolk. If u have a cholesterol concern, mention to ur doctor, otherwise a daily egg is generally okay.
