I usually feel hungry late evening and end up eating an apple or banana before sleeping. My saas keeps saying dont eat fruits at night during pregnancy. Is that a real thing or just an old belief? pls share what u do.
Haan na, fruits toh healthy hote hain par raat ko khaane se digestion thoda slow ho sakta hai aur acidity badh sakti hai. Isliye sham ke baad na khayein toh better hai. Agar craving ho toh ek chhota apple kha sakte ho.
I panicked once because I ate bananas late at night and read online that it causes cold and cough, which is totally fake, haha! It's absolutely safe to eat fruits, just avoid heavy ones like watermelon that might make you run to the washroom all night. Keep it light!
Arey sweetie, you can definitely eat them, but try to avoid very sweet or watery fruits right before sleeping. It can give you bad acidity or keep you awake with frequent urination. Have a small cup of apple or pomegranate earlier in the evening instead.
It is generally better to eat fruits during the day because of the natural sugars and fiber, which can cause bloating if you lie down right after. If you must have something sweet at night, go for a small portion of kiwi or papaya (fully ripe only). Just eat it an hour before sleeping.
My nutritionist at Cloudnine recommended finishing fruit intake before sunset or by late afternoon. Raat ko fruits eat karne se blood sugar spike ho sakta hai, which isn't ideal. If you have cravings, definitely ask your hospital dietician for a proper night snack plan.
