Craving veg manchurian so badly these days yaar, the spicy saucy type. Im 5 months and a little unsure about the maida and ajinomoto part. Do u all eat it sometimes or better avoid?
Hey there! Manchurian is usually okay in moderation, but the main thing to watch out for is the MSG and the hygiene of where it's made. Ghar pe banao toh thoda better hai. Make sure it's fresh and not too spicy, and don't overdo it. Listen to your body, always.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! After going through so much to conceive, it's natural to be very careful about everything you eat. For something like Manchurian, it's generally best to avoid outside food where you're not sure about the ingredients or hygiene. If you crave it a lot, maybe a homemade version, very lightly spiced? But truly, better to discuss with your doctor for peace of mind.
Manchurian can be quite tricky actually. It often has a lot of hidden sugars, refined flour, and sometimes ajinomoto (MSG), which are all things I had to strictly avoid because of my gestational diabetes. Even without GD, it's generally high in sodium and unhealthy oils. I'd personally suggest avoiding it or making a very healthy version at home with less oil and no MSG.
After what I went through, I became extremely careful with every single thing I put into my body. While Manchurian might seem harmless, it's usually high in preservatives, unhealthy oils, and often made in unhygienic conditions outside. I would strongly suggest avoiding it altogether, or only having a tiny bit from a very trusted, clean source, but even then, I would be hesitant.
Honestly, if it's from a good, clean place and made fresh, a little bit won't hurt. Don't go overboard, and definitely avoid roadside stalls. Just make sure it's well-cooked and not too spicy or oily. Your gynac usually says to eat everything in moderation, just be mindful of hygiene.
Oh my god, the cravings are real, right?! Manchurian sounds so good! I think a little bit, maybe homemade or from a super trusted place, should be okay. Just don't make it your daily meal, haha! And definitely less spice and oil if possible. Enjoy your treat! 😋
