I love paneer and have it almost daily but read somewhere that some cheese is not safe in pregnancy. Now im a bit scared. Is normal homemade paneer fine to eat or should i be careful about something?
Yes, as long as it's fresh and properly cooked or made from pasteurised milk. Avoid raw or unpasteurised soft paneer from random places. Home-made or well-cooked paneer was a regular for me, good protein and calcium.
Generally yes, the main caution is pasteurised milk and proper cooking to avoid any infection risk. As part of a balanced diet it's great. If you have any specific dietary restriction from your doctor, follow that.
Haan bilkul kha sakte ho na, bas fresh aur cooked hona chahiye. Main toh ghar ka paneer roz khaati thi pregnancy mein. Bahar ka kaccha paneer thoda avoid karo, that's all.
Paneer is a cheap good protein source so I leaned on it a lot, cheaper than fancy supplements. Just make sure it's fresh, store it properly and cook it well. Outside cut paneer I avoided to be safe.
Paneer was my pregnancy bestie honestly haha. Just have it cooked, paneer bhurji, sabzi, grilled, yum. I avoided the raw cubes in salads from outside, but ghar ka paneer was a green light.
