Im in my last month now and everyone keeps warning me about papaya. Honestly i miss eating it but thoda dar lagta hai after all these things people say. Is it really a problem this late?
Don't eat raw or green papaya at all because it can cause unwanted contractions. If it is 100% yellow and fully ripe, a small piece is fine, but honestly, why take any risk in your final month? Just stick to safer fruits like apples and pomegranates for now.
Medically, unripe papaya contains high levels of latex and papain which can stimulate uterine contractions, which is why it is unsafe. Fully ripe papaya is generally considered safe, but since you are in your ninth month, doctor's advice is absolutely best. Just check with your gynecologist during your weekly checkup.
Listen dear, raw or semi-ripe papaya has latex which can cause uterine contractions, so stay far away from it. Even if you want to eat fully ripe papaya, it is best to avoid it in the last month just to be on the safer side. Better safe than sorry when you're so close to meeting your baby!
I avoided unripe papaya completely but had small portions of fully ripe yellow papaya occasionally. It actually helped me with my late-pregnancy constipation, and I had a smooth normal delivery. Just make sure it is completely ripe and yellow.
