I really love pineapple but i keep hearing from everyone that it should be avoided in early pregnancy. Im just 7 weeks along and now im scared to even touch it. Is there really any truth to this or just an old myth?
I asked my doctor exactly this. She said normal fruit quantity is fine, the bromelain scare is about eating very large amounts of the core. She told me not to stress over a few pieces but not to binge it either.
After my loss I was extra careful with everything in early weeks, so I personally avoided it just to be at peace. Thats my own caution, not a rule. Whatever you decide, run it past your doctor and do what keeps your mind calm.
A few normal slices is generally fine, its the huge amounts people worry about. I had pineapple sometimes in both pregnancies without any issue. But if youre nervous early on, just keep it in moderation and ask your gynac.
Beta, in our homes they always told us to avoid too much pineapple in early months, more as a precaution. A little taste is not the end of the world. But early days are delicate, so dont overdo it and listen to your doctor.
I was craving pineapple so bad and felt guilty, haha. Ended up having a small bowl after checking with my doc and it was totally fine. Just dont go overboard, enjoy a little.
I avoided it completely in my first trimester out of pure fear, even though everyone said small amounts are okay. Looking back I probably stressed too much. If youre that anxious like me, just skip it for now and confirm with your gynac, no harm.
