Trying to eat a bit healthier this pregnancy and my mom suggested switching to red rice instead of white. Is it actually fine and good during these months? Anyone having it regularly na?
I switched to red rice partly during pregnancy because it keeps you full longer and is better for blood sugar. Nutritionally it is a good choice. Just balance it with your overall diet, no need to overthink portions.
Totally fine and a healthy swap. I cooked it on weekends and it kept me full so I snacked less. Just normal serving size with good sabzi and protein, you are sorted.
With my sugar issues, red rice was actually recommended over white because of the fibre. It is a good pick. But watch the quantity, even healthy rice in big amounts can spike sugar. If you have GD like me, check portions with your doctor.
Haan red rice is actually very good, we eat it regularly in our home. It has more fibre and nutrients than white rice. My doctor even encouraged it. Just keep portions normal and pair with veggies and dal.
