We eat soya chunks a lot at home for protein since im veg. Now that im pregnant i read mixed things about soy. Is it actually fine to keep eating during pregnancy?
My dietician said soya is fine in moderate amounts, like 2-3 times a week, good plant protein. She said only avoid going overboard daily because of the soy content. Cook it well and it works great in gravies.
I usually keep soya moderate because of my PCOS history, but in pregnancy my doc said normal portions are okay. If you have any hormone or thyroid issues maybe just ask your gynac once. Otherwise enjoy in balance.
Soya chunks were a lifesaver for me, quick to cook and filling protein after a long day. I kept it to a couple times a week. Soak, boil, squeeze and add to any sabzi, done.
Yes you can, soya chunks are good protein especially if you are veg. I had them in curry and pulao through both pregnancies. Just dont eat it daily in huge amounts, rotate with dal, paneer, eggs etc.
Honestly it's such a cheap protein source compared to other stuff. I relied on it a lot when paneer felt expensive. Just keep portions sensible and mix with other proteins.
