Can we feel the heartbeat during pregnancy?

Im 5 months now and sometimes when i lie down i feel like a soft thumping in my belly, not the kicks but something else. Is that the baby's heartbeat or am i just imagining? Curious if anyone actually felt it with their hand.

My doctor explained you cant physically feel the baby's heartbeat by touch. Its heard on ultrasound from around 6 to 7 weeks, and later with a doppler. What you feel later is movement and kicks, not the heartbeat itself.

I am waiting for my next scan to hear the heartbeat, so excited and nervous. So we hear it on the machine, not feel it na? Cant wait honestly.

I heard my baby's heartbeat on the scan around 7 weeks and I just teared up, it was the most magical sound. You cant feel it with your hand though, its through the scan or doppler. That moment stayed with me forever.
