A friend told me she had what looked like a period in early pregnancy and now im confused. Im 6 weeks and just trying to understand if that is even possible. Did anyone experience this?
No proper periods during pregnancy, that's the simple answer. But because bleeding can sometimes signal a problem, please don't ignore it, ring your gynac. Better to be cautious.
My gynac clarified that you don't actually get true periods once pregnant, since the cycle pauses. What people see is usually spotting or some bleeding which is different. Any bleeding should still be reported to the doctor to be safe.
I had some bleeding early and thought it was my period and that I wasn't pregnant, total confusion. Doctor explained it was just spotting and all was fine. So no, not real periods, but get any bleeding checked like I did.
