I tested positive but im seeing some light bleeding around the time my period was due and now im so confused and a little worried. Planning to call my gynac tomorrow. Has anyone had something like this?
Not a true period, no, because that cycle stops once you are pregnant. But some women get light spotting in early pregnancy which can be mistaken for a period. If you have actual bleeding, especially heavy, call your gynac.
What looks like a period in pregnancy is usually spotting or bleeding from another cause, and it should always be checked. I had some bleeding and getting it seen quickly was the right call. Please dont assume it is just a period, ring your doctor.
My doctor explained that you cant have a real menstrual period while pregnant, since the lining isnt shed. Any bleeding has a different reason, sometimes harmless spotting, sometimes needs attention. So if you bleed during pregnancy, it is always worth a call to the gynac.
