I go gym 4 days a week and dont want to stop but we just started trying for baby. Worried ki heavy workout might affect chances. Did u continue gym during TTC?
Haha, unless your idea of a gym workout is lifting 100 kg weights, you are absolutely fine! Light workouts are actually great to keep the stress away while trying to conceive. Just don't exhaust yourself so much that you have no energy left for the actual 'baby making' part!
When we were planning, our fertility consultant at the hospital advised that moderate exercise is highly beneficial for egg quality and blood flow. However, they recommended avoiding strenuous abdominal exercises during the two-week wait. I'd suggest asking your doctor to connect you with a certified pre-pregnancy fitness expert for a personalized plan.
Of course you can go to the gym, in fact, you should! Regular moderate workouts improve blood circulation, manage stress, and keep your insulin levels in check, which actually helps with conception. Just don't start any extreme new fitness routine right now, stick to what your body is already used to.
I used to go to the gym regularly when we were trying to conceive, and my doctor said moderate workouts are actually great for fertility! I'm currently pregnant and have shifted to lighter exercises now. Did any of you continue heavy lifting while trying, or did you scale it down?
We are also trying to conceive right now and I had the same doubt because I love going to the gym. My trainer told me that light cardio and strength training are totally fine, but we should avoid high-intensity workouts that exhaust the body too much. I'm just focusing on staying active and eating healthy for now.
Gym is totally fine, just don't go trying to become a bodybuilder overnight! Regular moderate exercise is great for preparing your body for the physical toll of pregnancy—trust me, carrying twins was a massive workout on its own. Just keep it balanced and don't push your body to its absolute limit.
