I bought avocado for breakfast because everyone says it is healthy, but at home nobody eats it and they are unsure. I am in first trimester and trying to eat better. Is avocado okay in pregnancy?
We didn't grow up eating it but my doctor said it's a very good fruit for pregnancy, full of healthy fat and folate. So I started having it. Wash well before cutting and it's all good.
Avocado was one of the foods my dietitian actually encouraged during my GD, because the good fats don't spike sugar much. Still keep the portion moderate. Such a useful fruit honestly.
Yaar avocado was my craving the whole pregnancy, on toast, in smoothies, everything. Perfectly safe and healthy. Just buy ripe ones and wash the skin before cutting.
Yes avocado is actually great, it has good fats and folate. I added it to my salads and smoothies. Just don't overdo the portion since it's calorie dense, half a fruit is plenty.
