Can we have intercourse during first week of pregnancy?
Just got my positive test and we are both happy but thoda unsure. Dont want to do anything that risks it so early. Is it safe in these starting weeks or better to wait? pls share.
I felt so nervous about this during my first month and feared I might hurt the baby. I felt much better after my doctor explained that the baby is safely cushioned inside, but we decided to wait until our first scan just for peace of mind.
I panicked when my husband and I had intercourse in the fifth week and I saw a tiny drop of pink spot afterwards. I ran to the doctor crying, but she reassured me it's just increased blood flow to the cervix and perfectly normal. Just be gentle and ask your doctor if you are too scared!
In my early weeks, my doctor allowed light walking but advised us to hold off on intercourse until the first trimester ultrasound was clear. It's always better to be cautious and follow whatever specific advice your doctor gives you.
I would highly advise checking with your gynac first before doing anything in the first few weeks. Early pregnancy is very delicate, and if there is any history of bleeding or low-lying placenta, they will ask you to avoid intercourse completely.
Physically, it is safe in a normal pregnancy, but first check if you have any spotting or pain. A simple call to your gynac's receptionist or nurse will clarify if your files show any complications that require you to avoid it.
Actually, intercourse is completely safe in early pregnancy unless you have bleeding, cramping, or a history of miscarriage. It is always best to ask your doctor during your first confirmation scan, because they can see if your placenta position is safe.
