I love pineapple but everyone at home is telling me to avoid it now that im pregnant, says it causes heat. Im 14 weeks and craving it badly. Is a little bit really a problem or just an old myth?
Theres a lot of myth around pineapple but in normal amounts its fine and even has good vitamin C. The whole avoid it story is about eating huge quantities. A few pieces here and there are okay, just dont overdo it.
Beta in our families they always said avoid pineapple in pregnancy because it is heaty. A small bit now and then probably wont harm, but i would keep it light, especially in early months. If unsure just ask your doctor na.
My elders were a bit careful about pineapple, so i had just a little occasionally and my doctor said that was perfectly fine. Moderation is the trick. If you ever feel any discomfort after, just check with your gynac.
Craved pineapple so bad in my second trimester haha. I had it in moderation and was totally fine. Just dont sit and finish a whole one, like with anything balance is key. Enjoy a few juicy pieces.
