Im a back sleeper since always but now in my 6th month i keep reading that its not good. Im finding it so hard to sleep on side honestly. Is it really a problem or can i still lie on my back sometimes?
Dont panic if you find yourself on your back sometimes, it happens to everyone. Just try to settle on your side, especially left, in the later months. A pillow behind your back makes it easier.
My gynac explained that as the uterus gets heavier, lying flat on back can press a big vein and make you feel light headed. So from around mid pregnancy she said sleep on the side. A pregnancy pillow between the knees really helped me.
I keep waking up on my back and then panic if I harmed something. My doctor said dont worry, your body will make you uncomfortable and you'll turn. Did anyone else stress about this too?
Early on it's fine, but in later months they tell you to avoid lying flat on back for long and sleep on your side, left side is best. I used to put a pillow behind to stop rolling onto my back. If it feels uncomfortable or dizzy, just turn to the side.
